True North takes a look at contemporary Alaskan architecture. The architectural uniqueness of this part of the world is exemplified by carefully selected projects from different areas. Extreme climatic and geographic conditions like the cold, the strong winds and earthquakes set very challenging conditions for sustainable solutions. The featured projects respond intelligently to their locations and the northern environment. They illustrate innovative and sensitive material palettes and sophisticated forms, whilst also considering functionality.
